There are many reasons why individuals do not get the required amount of sleep. For an average adult, the body needs between seven and eight hours sleep in a twenty-four hour period. Without the required amount of sleep your body and brain will not go through the much needed stages of sleep that help our body perform correctly during the time we need to be awake.
