Article marketing is one the best ways to get your website known. However, if you do not have a good author resource box with links that work, then you can pretty much find that article marketing will not work for you.

Let us look at how article marketing works. You write an article, and decide on an article directory that you want to submit it to. On the very bottom of the submit page will be a place that you can type in something to the author resource box. This box is where you can put a link to your website and if a reader likes your article they just might click on your website to see what else you have to offer.

There are other things too that can happen, but we are going to talk about the link in your author resource box, this will be one of the keys to your success.

If you have not made the mistake of putting a link in your author resource box wrong then you cannot imagine the frustration. I have done it more than I care to admit. Just one little letter typed wrong and that link is broken.

So let us talk about 6 simple tips to guarantee your author resource box links work.

First is to make sure that you begin your website link with the proper full address of your site. That means do not leave off the http://. It is so easy to simply type in the www. part and forget the other part, but in order for it to work it has to be the complete address.

Second goes along with the first. Make sure that you put in the complete address, correctly. If you are unsure the easiest way is to pull up your website and copy and paste the address into your author resource box. That way you know without a doubt it is a good link.

Third is to not add any html code to it. This means no italics or bold or color. Somehow a lot of times that html will mess up the formatting. This will cause the link not to work and we assuredly do not want that!

The fourth tip is to put your website link onto a new line. Not sure why it happens but I do know that it does. It somehow makes the link not work, perhaps by cutting it short or something. Again I am not sure why but I know you do not want the chance of a broken link, so put it on its own line and be safe.

The fifth tip is a simple one: Do not put a period, comma or exclamation mark on the end of your website address.

The final tip that you should do is to test your links. Physically hit on each address that you have used and make sure that your site opens up.

Now you know the 6 simple tips to guarantee your author resource box links work. It cannot be stressed enough the importance of making sure that they work. It only takes a few minutes to check and it can save you a world of frustration.

(PS)I have a small confession, in this very article I hit preview and found that my link was broken. I had once again left out one letter! Lucky for me I fixed it.
