Traditionally, Pilate's was performed by using a Pilate's reformer. This is a superb way to build strength, develop better alignment and posture and increase flexibility. Another popular form of Pilate's that a lot of you may be more familiar with is the Pilate's mat option. The use of the Pilate's machine, however, has become increasingly more popular than that of the mat because you can get a better workout and more core strength is developed within the core muscles!
One thing I would suggest when using a machine such as this is to have someone with you while using it - or better yet hire an instructor or teacher to guide you through it. There is a lot of important parts and exercises to the machine so it's essential that you understand what each one does for you and for your body. Here are a few of the infamous Pilate's machines that you can find online:
Pilate's Premier Reformer - The Stamina Pilate's Premier Reformer has four heavy-duty elastic cords that provide four levels of resistance, so you can use your Pilate's reformer at your own level. Designed with ultra-smooth gliders and rollers, the Pilate's Premier Reformer provides a safe, smooth, and quiet workout.
Aero Pilates Pro XP 686 Reformer XP686 - The Aero Pilates Pro XP686 Pilates Reformer is designed to strengthen entire body while improving flexibility. The Free-Form Cardio Rebounder burns calories to aid in weight loss. Stamina Aero Pilates Pro XP686 Reformer provides a workout that results in more defined arms and legs, flatter stomach, better posture, tighter bottom, and more energy with less stress.
Pilates Pro 557 Reformer XP557 - The Pilates XP557 provides four levels of workout resistance so that you can perform over 100 Pilate's exercises at the fitness level you need. Also, this reformer is elevated 15 inches to allow for advanced exercises. With the two included videos (Pilates Level 1 DVD & Pilates 20 Minute Cardio Workout DVD), you will learn how to use the machine properly and effectively.
Pilate's produces an internal exhibitor, as does yoga. The bloodstream will bear and discharge more and more of the accumulated debris created by weariness. The exercises carry blood into capillaries, which ordinarily are seldom ever amply induced once we have reached adulthood. They revitalize the organs of the body, including the important sweat glands, reduce heart strain, sanctify the blood and develop the lungs. In order to receive these benefits, the exercises must be done with preciseness and followed to even the subtlest degree.
This type of exercise also can tone up your abs, legs and thighs. And as with any exercise it is a very healthy way to release unwanted stress inside the body. This is the type of machine that is terrific for all kinds of people. It doesn't matter if you're in really good shape or if you are just starting to get into shape. It's also good for people such as rehab patients and athletes!
