For those who can percept mild inclinations of society's mindset, body building is still yoked with a negative perception. This is even more discernible at competitive body building level, amazingly enough, even majority of body builders would not wish to be professional, others will do anything else but go competitive.

Bodybuilding is held in reverence by the society at large and not only the body builders themselves. However, for those who can percept mild inclinations of society's mindset, body building is still yoked with a negative perception. This is even more discernible at competitive body building level, amazingly enough, even majority of body builders would not wish to be professional, others will do anything else but go competitive. So what is the problem?

It takes real interest to see it but the negative connotations of body building are part of our modern social stratus yet. The five major negatives that have crown competitive body building and actually spilled over the entire body building industry itself are essentially not because of body building but because of body builders. The abuse of recreational drugs including the crazy overuse and abuse of anabolic steroids has been the main source of public outrage against body building over the last three decades. On to this spoil image, sexual perversion has become the second baptism of body builders who tastes the glory of the championships stages. It is as if when one thinks about a big time body building in any local scene, and image of sexual orgies, fetishism, rape, incest and sexual anomalies hit the mind.

Then of course there is the issue of dishonesty. Starting from the very small local membership gym to the nearby drugs shop, products are sold on bases of lies and deception. That is before you hit the internet and meet the host of fake and bogus products. Body building has been trampled to outright conmanship of products and even ideas. The honor that the industry could have commanded has totally been lost to the fraud and circle of deception.

To make matters worse, instead of these racket and black market deception making products and services cheaper or at least affordable, it has made the prices skyrocket past the moon. Today, body building is regarded with loathing by the general population, given the prizing of even the most basic exercising equipment. The essence of body building workouts has been lost to greedy manufacturers who exclusively target a particular rich or ignorant cluster of individuals. The general population that needs these equipments and assorted products the most, are left behind as to feel bitter or even worse given the choice of buying the scrap equipments made for low prizes that endanger lives to say the least.

Cartels in the body building industry ranks pretty high on top. It's here that they have created a dubious demand for certain products like supplements and then siphoned off the production of the same products. The net result has been an explosion of body building products and equipments right through the roof, and soon if conditions remain constant, right through the sky.

Other things that have spoil the good name of body building include addictive personality disorders (name extreme obsession with the body, paranoia and other mental obsessions) and physical obsessions (eating disorders included). These things have made body building a totally destructive disorder rather than a benefiting one.
