Have you ever noticed yourself living without really taking noticing of life?

Sometimes we get into what I call "head-space". By this I mean we live life as a concept rather than making our days come to life. We just get on and do, do, do and end up feeling like, well... do-do!

When you get out of the head-space life can become an adventure.

In head-space we are caught up in things that must be done. We can often live life with our eyes half closed and with our actions based on response to fears and doubts and frustrations.

When we get out of this head-space we enter a zone of healing where we can confront and dissolve the things that we resist, so they evaporate.

We all know the old saying, "What you resist persists". And many of us are resisting things almost constantly. Yet whatever we resist become more intense.

Last week, Tuesday night to be exact, I was tired after getting back from of our Business Groups. The rubbish bin needed wheeling to the top of the path and I was tired and didn't feel like doing it. As I thought about not doing it I found myself slipping into a negative spiral and the remains of my energy just ran away as the negativity intensified. But the moment I put my hands on the bin and took it up the drive I felt better.

I made my choice in an instant - knowing I'd feel better if I just did it. But there are other times when it may feel better not to do something - perhaps if you had the flu and had the same decision to make!

Getting out of head-space and entering a zone of healing where adventure and enquiry can take place comes from lowering our resistance. It comes when we becoming inclusive of the things that drag us down.

But we don't heal ourselves through ignoring something. We heal it through embracing it and being with it.

The better we get at this the less we live at the mercy of others who previously had the ability to make us feel sad, doubtful and unhappy. We'll also be less reliant on others to make us happy.

Some people might think that filling up on life is about "positive thinking". I don't fully agree. You can say "I have no weeds in my garden" and close your eyes to the brambles, but will that really do the trick?

I don't think so. But if you make the affirmation while opening your eyes and digging out the roots of the things that throttle the things you want to grow, the garden can start to flourish. (Tip - never use a pitch fork unless your eyes are open! Trust me, it's not good!)

To get out of head-space (the concept of life) and get into the the adventure we just start asking two questions:

1. What's this about?
2. How does this serve me?

Ask these things whenever something annoys you, whenever you feel sad, tired or doubtful or reliant on someone else.

If you're in work that's draining your energy and not leaving you fulfilled take action!

Love and best wishes
