Sample Menus
If you are a restaurant owner you really want to give some thought to how you set up your menu. It needs to be easy to read and very descriptive so that people will be able to decide what they want to order. The menu is one of the first things your guests will see when they come in to eat so give them plenty of think about. You also need to make sure the prices are on the menu as well so they can buy what they are able to afford.
It is very likely that you will get your menus from a printing company so you can ask them to provide you with samples of the work they have done for others. While menus aren’t a huge expense, the number of them that you need can quickly add up. You want to make sure you are going to be very happy with the layout before they print up hundreds of them for you.
Since you may not be sure of the size of the menus you want, look at plenty of samples. This way you can choose the style, the design, and the structure of the information. Most people don’t give menus too much thought as to the layout of them unless they are difficult to read. Make sure customers can focus on the foods you have to offer instead of the menu itself by having it easy to read.
If you have many items to offer on your menu it is better to make it several pages thick than to make the writing smaller. People don’t want to have to use a magnifying glass to be able to read what you have available. Categorizing similar types of foods into one area is very useful as well.
It is a good idea to take a look at sample menus that offer pictures as well. Many people find that they are more likely to order a food item from the menu if there is a picture of it. This way they can make a decision based on how appealing the foods look in the pictures. With this in mind you want to be very careful about the various pictures that you choose to place on your menu.
