You may be very impressed watching various swing dancing moves out there on the floor. Don’t you think it is time that you learned some of them so you can be part of the action? Swing dancing really isn’t’ that hard, but it does take some practice. The biggest barrier is that there are so many variations of all the moves. Depending on who you learn them from, you may be going along with the crowd or showing your own independent style.
The key to swing dancing is to feel the freedom of your body. Too many people are worried about how they look while swing dancing in public. This tends to make them tense up and their body has a hard time looking natural during the moves. You need to be flexible while swing dancing so you will look graceful.
Make sure you wear clothing that allows you plenty of room to move without any restrictions. You don’t want shirts that are too tight and therefore you can’t move quickly. You also want to wear shoes with plenty of traction so you can remain in control of your movements.
New swing dancing moves continue to emerge as the style evolves with various types of music. Swing dancing competitions are very popular, and to get more points the participants are always looking for new ways to impress the judges. Those watching the swing dancing competitions pick up on these moves and try them in the clubs. As a result other people notice them and continue to engage in them as well.
Don’t be intimidated by the prospect of learning swing dancing moves. It is going to take you some time to be able to learn them, but you will find it can be a very fun experience. As you start to learn more you will be motivated to continue with the moves. Don’t be afraid to sign up for swing dancing lessons or to ask people you know for pointers. If you are self conscious about how you look on the dance floor, as a friend to video tape you swing dancing in your living room. This way you can get a realistic view of how you really look out there.
