There are plenty of wonderful types of cologne on the market, but unfortunately many of them are quite expensive. One alternative is to settle for cheap cologne that smells similar. Many of them will advertise that they do smell like a particular type of expensive cologne so that you will be more likely to check it out. You do have to be careful though as you may find they don’t really smell that much alike to your own sense of smell.

You may discover that the scent doesn’t last nearly as long either. This means you will use up more cheap cologne than you will otherwise. In that way it may not be cost effective for you as you may have thought it would be. For men, some types of cheap cologne smell too much like regular alcohol. This isn’t a very appealing smell so you do have to be careful.

Some individuals have a sensitivity to various types of cheap cologne. You want to make sure that you don’t before you use too much of it. Some people end up with their skin itching or they may develop a red rash on the parts of their body where they have sprayed the cologne.

When it comes to cologne, you often get what you pay for. Those dollar items can be attractive and fun to mess around with, but don’t expect too much from them. They are great gifts for young girls though that want to copy what their mothers do with real cologne. You certainly don’t want to find your child in your bedroom doused in your $100 cologne.

Of course not all cheap cologne is poor quality as some of it just isn’t well known yet. You will find that the more in demand that a particular fragrance is, the more expensive it becomes. You will also discover that if a celebrities name is on the perfume or they are paid to endorse it, the cost of it can be through the roof.

Some types of cheap cologne don’t use this type of marketing. They still sell volumes of their cologne though as it is well known as a good product. This is because they have a much smaller overhead expense to cover.
