Bridal Shower Planning

If you are hosting a bridal shower, you definitely want to put forth your best effort. This is a very special event for the bride and you want to make sure she is going to enjoy it. Many people feel it is very appropriate to approach the bride and ask her what type of event she wants to have. Since the bridal shower is likely to be hosted by the maid of honor, they will have a very close relationship. The bride will also be willing to take the budget of the maid of honor into consideration.

The date for the bridal shower needs to be one of the first issues addressed. Prior to a wedding, most weekends are consumed by various plans for the wedding. Make sure the bride can carve out an afternoon to enjoy the bridal shower without stressing herself out. You may want to do this event several months before the actual wedding to give her more time to enjoy it.

The location for the bridal shower needs to be large enough to fit all of the people that have been invited. You need to make sure there are enough tables and chairs for people if you will be serving a meal. If you are only serving cake and snacks then just chairs are acceptable.

The invitations for the event can be homemade or purchased. Make sure you run the guest list by the bride so that no one is forgotten. She may have friends or family members that you aren’t aware of. Mail them early so people can plan to attend the bridal shower. It is also a good idea to have them RSVP so that you can get a good count as to the number of people that will be attending.

You want your guests to have fun at the bridal shower, so give them the opportunity to have a good time. Plan some games that they can take part in and have some nice gifts to give to the winners of the games. Make sure you have something nice to send them home with too. This is a nice way to thank them for attending the bridal shower.
