There are hundreds of diet pills on the market today. They all make slightly different claims but the bottom line is the same: take the pill and lose weight. Some urge users to adopt a diet and exercise plan in conjunction with using the pill, while others claim to make you loose weight with no lifestyle changes just by taking the pill. Many people use diet pills with varying results as only a few pills actually help you lose weight.
The truth is no pill can take the place of proper diet and exercise. There is no way a pill will help you lose weight if you do not exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet. If you are tempted to try a diet pill instead of adopting these healthy habits, do not expect to see any results. However, a few diet pills can help you to lose more weight than diet and exercise alone while others will not help at all.
Before you try a diet pill you need to be well informed about it. You should know how it works, what the potential side effects are, if it works for a large percentage of users or not, and if it is medically backed. A large number of diet pills on the market today either don't work at all or have major side effects that can be dangerous.
Different diet pills work in different ways as well and the way they work is directly related to whether or not you will have success with them. Some diet pills work by suppressing the appetite, some by stimulating the metabolism, and others by blocking fat absorption. Stimulants and suppressants usually have the most serious side effects, and pills that work by blocking fat absorption can also have their share of nasty side effects.
There are some diet pills you should avoid including ones that contain ephedra, guar gum, and bitter orange as they can cause unsafe side effects. Other ingredients such as chromium, green tea extract, and hoodia are also used in diet pills but their effectiveness has not been substantiated.
Before you try any diet pill make sure it contains ingredients that are safe and proven effective. It is also important to follow the directions carefully to avoid unpleasant side effects. And it is also important to remember that no diet pill will help you to loose weight unless you adopt a healthy diet and exercise program.
