People shopping for Florida beach houses often look in the popular destinations like Palm Beach. However, home buyers are starting to realize there are many great deals in outlying communities like Lake Worth. Homes in these areas have as much or more to offer than houses in other areas.
Big City Amenities in Small Town Communities
Shopping for homes can involve a balancing act. Many people want the convenience of big cities such as shopping and entertainment, but they don't want the crowds and pollutions that often go with big city life. Lake Worth homes offer the best of both worlds. This small community is part of the South Florida Metropolitan Area, which includes Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Palm Beach.
Residents have easy access to airports, universities, and the largest employers in the state. Four professional sports teams and several college teams give the sports enthusiast plenty of choices. Other entertainment venues include the Adrienne Arsht Center, the second largest performing arts center in the country.
No Shortage of Local Attractions
Don't want to drive to the big city? Lake Worth real estate offers convenient access to plenty of local activities as well. Dozens of restaurants offer food from inexpensive tacos and sandwiches to fine French and Italian cuisine. Of course, there is plenty of fresh seafood available as well.
There are miles of beaches located near Lake Worth. The beaches offer plenty of recreation such as swimming and fishing, and are one of the main reasons people settle in the area. As the community has grown, more entertainment businesses have opened up. Golfing, bike trails, camping and other activities are just a few of the activities available to local residents.
Lake Worth hosts several signature events. The Street Painting Festival turns the downtown area into an outdoor museum where local artists create masterpieces on the pavement. The Tropical Triathlon is an annual athletic contest that winds along beaches and scenic neighborhoods. Hispanic Fest celebrates the rich traditions of the area's many Hispanic residents.
There Are No People Like Lake Worth People
A community isn't defined by airport access or even local festivals. The true attraction of Lake Worth homes is the friendly and diverse residents. Lake Worth is home to an eclectic collection of characters. Here, different groups of people intermingle and thrive together.
What is the typical Lake Worth resident? Is it the surfer in his cutoffs? How about the couple in designer clothing sipping wine? Maybe it's the artist sketching a portrait in a cafe or one of the Red Hat Ladies. The truth is there is no typical Lake Worth resident. This is not a community of cookie-cutter people, marching in step, following the same fads. It is a community of individuals.
There is one thing Lake Worth residents share and that is a warm openness. That small town feeling that welcomes and embraces visitors and new residents. That is what makes Lake Worth great.
