Affiliate marketing has been a way for me to make money online while still developing my own niche and website. You can do the same thing as well, especially if you are new to the internet. It is great to start making some money while you are still learning.
My introduction to affiliate marketing was by writing articles. My website was still under construction, which meant it had not been built yet, my blog was not very interesting, and I was still narrowing down the focus of my niche.
I did have many interests, so I was able to write short articles, about two hundred fifty to three hundred words long, and at the end of each article I included a link to a digital affiliate product that the reader might be interested in purchasing. It was a product that was directly related to the topic of my article.
Within just a few weeks I was making some money. It was less than one hundred dollars that first month, but I knew that it could be increased by writing articles in areas that were very popular with the readers. I focused on just three products instead of writing articles in lots of different areas. My income doubled the next month.
At this point I was ready to start blogging on a regular basis. I started blogs in two of my niches so that I could write blog posts to also promote these same products. It took time to get regular traffic to my blogs, so I continued to write articles at the same time.
It was at this point that I began something call repurposing. I would post to my blog, and then expand that post into an article. It cut down on the time it took to write, and I was increasing my visibility online at the same time. This worked very well and I continued to blog and write articles as I watched my affiliate income rise.
At some point I began to promote people whose courses I had taken. The experienced people all had affiliate programs, so I joined and began to write articles and blog about their various program and courses. Some of them had eBooks and other products, as well as their services, so it increased my income. I was just beginning to build a list, so I then could do an email blast to my people when someone I was an affiliate for had a course beginning soon.
This is how I got started as an affiliate, and now I make enough each month to make my house payment, so I am a very happy affiliate.
