Keratosis pilaris is a skin condition that manifests as rough patches or bumpy skin. It is cuased by an excess of keratin, a hard protein that plugs pores, leading to raised bumps. While not medically serious, the condition can cause itchiness. Keratosis pilaris cannot be cured, but it can be managed effectively with topical treatments.
