Google just
added a new feature to its search results that gives anyone who is versed in
the art of SEO an advantage through their
new “snippets”. When you look at a Google search page, you will find a snippet
of material in the results of a page. The goal of this snippet is to help you
decide at a glance if that page is where you want to go. Google achieves this
by allowing you to give context to your pages through two different semantic web
technologies: microformats and RDFa. Microformats and RDFa’s are semantic
mark-ups that re-use XHTML and HTML tags to convey metadata and other
attributes for the end user to access for information. Search continues to
evolve with the internet and its users.
